I hope a few of those people are also linking to your lens – having a lens that gets links is great for your other lenses and online projects you know.

I’m also finding some of my lenses get way more yahoo than google traffic. I think yahoo takes more of the intersquidoo links seriously (I’m seeing signs to indicate that google thinks many of them may be spammy).

Tony: Yeah, once I figured out what was going on, my excitement changed to dismay: “I didn’t even put any Amazon products up there! D’OH!” I’ll know better next time.

Aj2008: Apparently a lot of people are looking up “most overused english words” on Yahoo… I didn’t deliberate much on keywords when I made the lens, though, because I didn’t expect it to go anywhere.

Mulberry: Yeah, I’ve had that same experience a few times. Never anything quite this dramatic, though. I was whelmed.

I’ve had some shoot up all of a sudden for unexplained reasons like that after just sitting there for months…well, not to the tune of 76,000 visits, but several hundred. Good for you!

WOW! That is just amazing. Sad it wasn’t monetized though, especially as so many people stayed long enough to leave a comment. You just never know what might happen. Stumbleupon is another place where pages get found and sometimes my lenses have taken off there for no apparent reason, but few comments.

Very Interesting and here I was thinking that I didn’t look too bad for an old dog. Will have a go at changing it. Probably take me six weeks to work that out. Definitely got the meaning of the tip. Well done.
